RESISTANT TO heat shock
Low-loss magnetic flux
Once that a permanent magnet is magnetized, if it is not subject to external agents, it may maintain its magnetic flow value for 100 years. External agents which may affect on the flow loss are:
- Exposure to high temperatures
- Thermal shock
- Exposure to electric current
- Wear, chipping, rust
The magnet inside of an electric motor, is subject to thermal stress due to the operation cycles of the motor which have a strong temperature fluctuations.
Therefore, fundamental feature of the permanent magnets is having to endure frequent temperature changes without losing its magnetic properties.
This depends on the percentage of dysprosium powders of the magnet. The dysprosium, in fact, significantly influences the resistance of the magnet to high temperatures.
The best electric motors producers require a value of irreversible magnetic flux loss less than 5%.
RD Europe Group guarantees a irreversible magnetic flow loss on their magnets even below 3%!
Recently, we tested our magnets quality N35 SH in Helmholtz coil and we undergone them to a oven cycle at 120 ° C for 2 hours, with excellent results.
